On March 15, 2008, in a rematch against Juan Manuel Margquez called "Unfinished Business", Pacquiao defeated Marquez in another controversial and disputed split decision victory.  The fight was very close and brutal for both fighters, though Pacquiao was again able to knock down Marquez in the third round.  With the victory, Pacquiao became the WBC and The Ring super featherweight champion, thus making him the first Filipino fighter to win three world titles in theree different weight classes.

Quickly after the fight, Marquez's camp was calling for an immediate rematch, and Richard Schaefer, GBP CEO offered a $6 million dollars guarantee to fight Pacquiao for a rematch. Bob Arum said the fight will probably happen sometimes in the future but Pacquiao responded by saying" I don't think so, this business is over" because he was planning to move up to the lightweight division to fight David Diaz, the WBC lightweight champion at that time.

Reminiscent of the first fight, Marquez got knock down early but responded with combination of punches that bruised and jolted Pacquiao. Manny managed to stay within the fight by throwing deadly combos of his own and with the third round knockout was able to secured the split decision victory in this highly anticipated rematch.
