Title Belt Contested: The Ring Magazine featherweight title

Simply the fight that highlighted Pacquiao's career and catapulted him into superstardom as a boxing great.  The fight took place in the Alamodome, in San Antonio, Texas where the crowd was overwhelmingly on Barrera side, but it was Pacquiao that stunned the crowd with an amazing 11th round KO of the Mexican legend. 

After slipping in the first round but was deducted a point because the referree considered it knock down, Pacquiao then ferociously went after Barrera. Pacquiao relentless punches finally wore down Barrera and was finally able to knock down Barrera in the third round silencing the crowd.

The following rounds had Pacquiao continued his onslaught of hooks, powerful left punches, and lightning speed combination, thus frustrating Barrera so much, that Barrera even head butted Pacquiao. Pacquiao was just too much for Barrera eventually prompting Barrera's corner to stopped the fight in the 11th round. Manny Pacquiao now has a name, a name that eventually would become a champion of the world.
