| Manny “The Entertainer” Pacquiao |
Pacman is a proven entertainer in the ring with his boxing prowess and skills that will have you on your feet the entire night as he gracefully throws his right jab follow by the climax of his lethal left hook. I can’t recall the last time a southpaw exuberate such power but yet such grace in his boxing. When Manny Pacquiao is in the ring, it seems the man known around the world as the “Mexicutioner” can just do it all. It’s no question he is a talented fighter, but a talented individual as well?If there were ever a point in case that money can buy you anything, then Pacquiao is a perfect example. Pacquiao is an immortal icon in the Philippines, and is unafraid to do anything that his imagination and wallet will allow him to do. We are all familiar with Pacquiao’s interest in politics and he will very likely run again for a spot to join the political arena. He has obviously made millions in commercial sponsorships ranging from companies like Nikes, McDonalds, to the local beer commercials for the San Miguel Filipino brand. All of the above seems quite common among most athletes when they want to seek out other ventures, but Pacquiao has once again taken another step to truly identify what it means to be flat out rich and famous. In 2005, Manny released his first music album called “Para Sa'yo Ang Laban Na 'To” and much to the international audience’s surprise it was a smash hit and has reached sales in the millions in the Philippines. In his past time, Pacquiao loves to sing karaoke and play his guitar when not training for a fight. He has performed in concerts and never turns down an opportunity to sing to his people. He has also hosted a music television show called Pinoy Records and overall has a passion for music. Most boxers can hardly speak correctly after taking such beating in the ring, but Pacman has found out that you can still sing as long as you avoid a busted lip by not getting hit. Releasing Para Sa'yo Ang Laban Na 'To is Pacquiao’s dream come true, we should be glad he didn’t butcher his singing career much like the way Shaq destroyed his acting career when he made Kazaam. Currently Pacquiao is working on his acting career with a TV series set to release in late February of 2009. The TV series is GMA 7’s action/adventure pack TV series called “Totoy Bato”. Pacquiao will be starring along other famous Filipino actors/actress such as Robin Padilla, Regine Velasquez, and award winning actor/director Eddie Garcia. In the series, Manny plays a role he is well suited for, a boxer that whom Garcia trained and eventually become a boxing star, hmm sounds like they don’t really need to write a script for this one. Manny Pacquiao has taken super stardom to another level with his endless arrays of interest and projects that he partakes in but what separate him from the hordes of athlete/movie star/singer is that he’s actually good at it. I still would much rather pay $500 to watch Manny Pacquiao perform in the ring than $10 to perform in the silver screen. |
