The whole nation and people that adores him so dearly, both on the main island and by every Filipino across the globe clearly puts Manny Pacquiao in a status of his own among athletes. Many of us ordinary folks will trade for even a day to walk the footstep of Manny Pacquiao. Who wouldn’t want a parade showered with confetti, a luxury of riches, and thousands of your own countrymen and women that reveres you beyond human. Being Manny Pacquiao however is not always perfect and in fact is far from luxurious at times. It has been well documented that Manny Pacquiao has a vice for gambling, cock fighting, the over the top all night drinking parties, and pacman politics. You can’t really hate on Manny Pacquiao for enjoying the very life that he has created for himself. However; as Godlike Manny Pacquiao may seem, he is as mortal as human as we all. He too will succumb to temptation and falter to the appeals of this materialistic society.

Early in 2008, photographs were uncovered showing Manny Pacquiao seductively dancing with a woman other than his wife Jinkee. There is no shortage of women that would throw themselves at Manny Pacquiao and being a married man, this can quite possibly be the hardest temptation to resist. Manny Pacquiao, however in recent times have recommitted himself to being a better husband and father of three children and soon to be four. He has been more focused on boxing than ever before and has left the rest to his devotion to God. Close friend and confidant Rex “Wakee” Salud said he and “everybody around Manny is surprised by the change” and that he is “a completely changed man” since the time leading up to his rematch with Juan Manuel Marquez.

Manny Pacquiao is no God, but he has shown that he can fail and rise back like a real man should do. There is a price to be paid to be Manny Pacquiao, your family, your privacy, and the simple things in life that is most valuable. Manny Pacquiao has risen to great heights as the 2008 boxer of the year and a family man and he continues to strike a balance between super mega celebrity and a loving father and husband to his family.
